Steve Townsend’s personal Blog has been moved to townsendnews.blogspot.com.
We will update this blog with additional Townsend content when we have a free moment since all of us are in school right now. We do have a backup of the old Townsendnews.com from the 2006 era of the accident. So what we’ll try to do is this:
- Restore much of Townsendnews.com as a historical retrospective of the accident, it’s impact on the family, our friends and our lifestyle.
- Post professional updates for all interested Townsends
- Other fun family things
Why did I take down the previous blog? Well, as things have been very shaky at Novell, I have been sending out inquiries for other employment or business opportunities. Of course, in the new world of open personal information, people have been Googling “Steve Townsend” or “Steven Townsend”. Well, Townsendnews.com is still in the top 5. So people were getting this first impression that Steve Townsend is an injured guy in rehab in Utah. Although that was a phase in my life, it’s not “who” I am now. So I needed to make sure the first virtual impression of “Steve Townsend” was a little more inclusive.
Unfortunately, when we went to modify and upgrade Townsendnews.com, it had been compromised. We couldn’t even log into it as an administrator. So the only option we had was to take it down and try to restore it in pieces.
We just haven’t had time to dig into this. I’m working full time and going to BYU in the evening. Ellen is going to school too. Andrew is getting married in April and going to school. So, what I’m saying is, check back in July.
